TopoOptix Standard Limited Warranty Policy

1. WARRANTY COVERAGE

TopoOptix Technologies Ltd. (“Manufacturer”) warrants that its optical products (including AR waveguide modules, VR display modules, and accessories) shall be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service for the Warranty Period specified in Section 2. This warranty extends only to the original purchaser (“Customer”) who acquires the product through Manufacturer’s authorized sales channels.

2. WARRANTY PERIOD

Note: Proof of purchase required. For unregistered products, warranty period commences from manufacturing date.

3. WHAT THIS WARRANTY COVERS

Manufacturer will, at its sole discretion, repair or replace defective components including:

  • Optical Defects: Delamination of waveguide structures, polarization film degradation
  • Mechanical Defects: Failure of diopter adjustment mechanisms (0-800 diopters range)
  • Electrical Defects: Display driver IC failures, eye-tracking sensor malfunctions
  • Software Defects: Critical firmware errors preventing basic functionality

4. WHAT THIS WARRANTY EXCLUDES

This warranty does not cover:

  • Damage resulting from:
    • Accident, abuse, neglect, or improper maintenance
    • Unauthorized modifications or use of non-TopoOptix components
    • Exposure to liquids, extreme temperatures (>60°C/<0°C), or corrosive environments
    • Natural disasters, power surges, or improper voltage supply
  • Cosmetic damage (scratches, dents) not affecting functionality
  • Consumable parts (optical adhesives, cleaning pads)
  • Normal performance degradation (≤10% MTF reduction, ≤5% FOV narrowing)

5. WARRANTY CLAIM PROCEDURE

To obtain service:

  1. Register: Activate warranty at [https://topooptix.com/product-registration/] within 30 days of purchase.
  2. Diagnose: Perform troubleshooting using TopoOptix Diagnostic Toolkit (v2.1+).
  3. Submit Claim: Provide through Customer Portal:
    • Valid proof of purchase
    • Product serial number
    • Detailed failure description + error logs/video evidence (≥15 sec)
  4. RMA Authorization: Manufacturer will issue Return Material Authorization (RMA) if claim is approved.
  5. Shipment: Customer bears shipping costs to designated service center. Manufacturer covers return shipping.

6. REMEDY LIMITATIONS

  • Repair/replacement constitutes full satisfaction of warranty obligations.
  • Replaced parts become Manufacturer’s property.
  • Replaced products carry the remainder of the original warranty period.
  • Turnaround time: 15 business days (standard) / 7 days (expedited service available at additional cost).

7. WARRANTY TRANSFER

This warranty is non-transferable except for corporate acquisitions with prior written consent from Manufacturer. Transfer requires:

  • Notarized bill of sale
  • Original purchase documentation
  • $75 administrative fee

8. GEOGRAPHIC LIMITATIONS

Warranty valid only in countries with official TopoOptix distribution. Service modifications apply for:

  • Americas: Service centers in USA (California), Canada (Ontario)
  • EMEA: Finland (Helsinki), Germany (Munich)
  • APAC: China (Shenzhen), Singapore

Customers outside service regions must ship products at own expense. Local regulations may override certain terms.

9. DISCLAIMERS & LIMITATIONS

  • NO IMPLIED WARRANTIES: TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES (INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR PURPOSE) ARE LIMITED TO THE WARRANTY PERIOD.
  • NO LIABILITY FOR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES: MANUFACTURER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, OR SPECIAL/INCIDENTAL DAMAGES.
  • TOTAL LIABILITY CAP: MANUFACTURER’S MAXIMUM LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE PRODUCT’S PURCHASE PRICE.
  • STATUTORY RIGHTS: This warranty gives specific legal rights; consumers may have additional rights under local laws.

10. EXCLUSIONS FROM WARRANTY

This warranty is void if:

  • Serial number is altered/removed
  • Product shows evidence of tampering (broken security seals)
  • Liquid Contact Indicators (LCIs) are activated
  • Repairs are attempted by unauthorized personnel

11. GOVERNING LAW

This warranty shall be governed by the laws of Finland without regard to conflict of laws principles. Disputes shall be resolved through arbitration in Helsinki under ICC Rules.
